R&B singer Frank Ocean comes out as bisexual
Frank Ocean, a rising R&B singer with the new single “Novacane” and the self-released album nostalgia, ULTRA, announced on his Tumblr page that his first love was a man.
Ocean wrote: “4 summers ago, I met somebody. I was 19. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together. Everyday almost. And on the days we were together, time would glide.”Ocean continues with the post: “I don’t have any secrets I need to keep anymore. … I feel like a free man. If I listen closely. I can hear the sky falling too.”
Ocean has a new album, Channel Orange, coming out July 17. He’s part of the hip-hop collective Odd Future, which is headed by Tyler the Creator. Despite using misogynist lyrics and being criticized heavily by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, Tyler the Creator voiced his support of Ocean on Twitter.
