CW30 to air ‘The New Normal’ Saturdays
After Utah’s NBC affiliate, KSL, refused to air its new situational comedy about a gay couple, CW30 has announced that they will air the show on Saturday nights at 10 p.m.
According to a statement to the Deseret News from Jeff Simpson, chief executive of Bonneville International, the owners of KSL-TV, “After viewing the pilot episode of The New Normal, we have made the decision to keep it off our fall schedule. For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time.”
One Million Moms has also started a campaign against the program, which depicts a gay couple trying to have a baby via a surrogate mother.
CW30 will air the program on Saturdays at 10 p.m., beginning Sept. 15.
Over the years, KSL has refused to run NBC programming, including Saturday Night Live and “The Playboy Club.”
