Rally planned to support nondiscrimination bill

A rally in support of passing a statewide nondiscrimination bill is planned for Wednesday, March 13, 5:30 p.m. at the Utah Capitol. Equality Utah is sponsoring the rally. The last day of the normal legislative session is Thursday, March 14.

“Together, we were able to push the antidiscrimination bill over the first hurdle, and now we have exactly four days to capitalize on the momentum. This is the time to go statewide! We need to reach out to every legislator from every corner of our state and encourage them to support the antidiscrimination bill,” an Equality Utah press release read.

A senate committee recently passed the bill with a favorable recommendation for a full senate vote. Although the bill has been sponsored in the past, it has never been voted on by the full Utah House or Senate.
