Saturday, June 25, the Alternative Garden Club will join the Urban Garden and Farm Tour (formerly known as the Tour de Coops), 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tour, by Wasatch Community Gardens, will be of yards and gardens which are producing food and poultry. Expect to see some gardens and coops which are beautiful, while some of them have more of a “relaxed” design.

Wednesday, July 6, is the monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Sugar House Garden Center, 1602 E. 2100 South. The people who take care of the beautiful roses at Red Butte Gardens discuss what they do.

The Alternative Garden Club is a social group for LGBT and allies who are interested in gardening, landscaping and growing things. There is a monthly meeting where topics have ranged from new tomatoes and historic landscaping to chickens and beekeeping. Potlucks and special garden tours are also held from time to time.

Membership is $20 per year. For more information, contact at altgardenclub@gmail.com, utahagc.org/clubs/altgardenclub or their Facebook page at bit.ly/altgarden.
